Update 7/11/23 - Last update of Chapter 1


 This one comes with 3 missions: 2 short ones and 1 of decent length that took me quite some time to render out – a total of 67 renders.

It might not sound like a lot, but considering that most renders are 3840 x 2160, and due to the medieval setting, indoors are usually poorly lit, the renders take some time to complete. This update will be the last one from the introductory chapter. 

The story is set, and now I will focus on developing the base building and strategy components. What does this mean? The player will now start their journey without any home, friends, or family.

As I look to the future of the game, I've made the decision to remove some objectives I had set for myself: the ability to switch the control of the character between point & click and mouse + keyboard, and the option to choose the appearance of the main character. For the control system, I don't have enough time to program both functionalities.

Regarding the appearance of the character, I lack the time to render all the scenes with different player characters. I've learned a lot in the past few months, and I can now look back at many aspects that I want to improve, both in terms of code and render quality. In addition, I'll be dedicating some time to migrate the game to a newer editor and update the render pipeline to HD.

This means the game will look better but will also have higher hardware requirements. 

*** Disclaimer ***

There is a bug in my menu system when chosing the option "Restart". To start a new game, its needed to delete all the saves and start a clean game.
